1. How did your fitness/CrossFit journey begin? I have been working in the health and fitness industry since I was in college an unbelievably long time ago. I started by teaching group fitness classes and then got into personal training. As I got involved in the world of running and triathlons I coached athletes in those sports, as well. Having seen many fitness trends come and go through the years, I did not give CrossFit much thought at first. Then I watched a CrossFit Games event with swimming and pull-ups and I thought – I could do that! My husband was deployed at the time, but he managed to buy me a 101 class at a CrossFit gym near our house. I was both humbled and hooked immediately!

2. Why did you decide to start coaching CrossFit? At the end of the day, I really enjoy getting to know people. I love helping people see what is possible when you just figure out the next step and take it. I realize the huge impact CrossFit can have on someone’s life and I am honored to play any role I can in helping people reach their goals.

3. What is your favorite CrossFit movement? Bar muscle ups

4. What is your least favorite CrossFit movement? Assault Bike!!!

5. What is your favorite benchmark workout? “Murph”

6. What is your favorite “treat” food? The list is long, my friends!!

7. What runs through your mind when you hear “3..2..1..GO!”? Stay calm! Do my thing!

8. What is your advice to someone just starting CrossFit? This is your journey! Figure out what it will take to make you healthier… happier… better… and let us know how we can help!

1. How did your fitness/CrossFit journey begin? My good friend walked into a CrossFit gym around the corner from our apartment and did Fran on his first day. He told me about it, showed me a video of Rich Froning doing Fran and making it look entirely too easy. So I showed up the next day, got my butt whipped and never left.

2. Why did you decide to start coaching CrossFit? To help people become the best version of themselves.

3. What is your favorite CrossFit movement? That is a tough one, I’ll have to go with muscle-ups. I’m not very good at them but it is something I was not sure I would ever be able to do.

4. What is your least favorite CrossFit movement? Thrusters

5. What is your favorite benchmark workout? “Murph”

6. What is your favorite “treat” food? Pizza or a good burger and fries!

7. What runs through your mind when you hear “3..2..1..GO!”? Oddly enough, nothing. The moments leading up to that I’m usually a flurry of thoughts and emotions lol. But when I hear “3..2..1..GO!”, all that seems to fade away and its just time to get to work!

8. What is your advice to someone just starting CrossFit? Stay positive and keep showing up. Every day you come to the gym you get a little bit better than yesterday. And getting a little better everyday is the name of the game!

1. How did your fitness/CrossFit journey begin? After wrestling, I thought I’d focus on becoming more “fit.” I was mainly focused on aesthetic muscles, but after a few months I became bored. I became interested in CrossFit after watching a video on YouTube, but I was intimated after witnessing what they were capable of doing. A week or two later, a buddy approached my about trying out a local box. I finished my first workout, which I remember had around 60 pull ups in it and lots of overhead presses. Of course with no knowledge of what I was doing, I did everything strict. After the first round, I was completely out of breath, in full-body shock, incredibly humbled – and hooked.

2. Why did you decide to start coaching CrossFit? I love CrossFit for a lot of reasons, but one specific aspect really stands out to me. Just like wrestling, CrossFit will make you not only physically fit, but mentally fit as well. I t pushes you harder than you thought you were capable of and gives you this sense of accomplishment and confidence that effects all aspects of our life. I knew I wanted to teach others almost immediately!

3. What is your favorite CrossFit movement? Thrusters. Not because I’m best at them but because it is a full body crushing movement!

4. What is your least favorite CrossFit movement? burpees

5. What is your favorite benchmark workout? Fran, for sure!

6. What is your favorite “treat” food? Sour Patches

7. What runs through your mind when you hear “3..2..1..GO!”? My focus is 100% on myself. I put the blinders on and I go and stick to my strategy.

8. What is your advice to someone just starting CrossFit? My biggest advice for someone just starting comes from one of my favorite sayings. “Slow down. Calm down. Don’t worry. Don’t hurry. Trust the process.
